Teen Scavenger Hunt Ideas

Looking for teen scavenger hunt ideas that will enliven any
adolescent get-together? Here are some that are sure to get everyone
involved in the fun.
In the Dark With Flashlights
This may be one of the most thrill-provoking teen scavenger
hunt ideas out there. Turn off all the lights in the house. Provide
each teen with a flashlight. Then have them search for hidden
items around the house. Just make sure the floor is free of clutter
or anything else they can get hurt on.

Make a list of items they must find online. These may include
things such as information on a famous person from history, an
item for sale for a particular amount, or an online store that
sells unique items. Have fun with this and make sure the items
are not too easy to find since most teens these days are well
equipped to make use of search engines quickly and efficiently.
Taking Pictures
Looking for teen scavenger hunt ideas that are easy to implement?
This one is for you! Have everyone bring along a digital camera
or provide disposable ones. There are a couple of ways for doing
this. One way is to have them take pictures of a list of particular
items. Another is to require them to take pictures of people
doing certain things, such as doing a crazy dance or giving the
two thumbs up sign. Whichever way is used, be sure that the teens
have a clear idea of where they are allowed to go. These should
also be done in groups for safety.
Text Messaging
Only one phone is needed for this. Just send text messages
periodically, each containing clues. Make the first clues more
cryptic, with each one getting more and more specific.
Find Objects in Magazines
While this teen scavenger hunt idea is not new, there are
varying twists to make it more challenging and interesting for
a group of teens. The participants can be required to find a
list of objects, and make this challenging, but not so challenging
that the objects wont be found. Another option is for them to
find different things in magazines and have them paste them together,
for example a man with a blue dress and a red hat holding a rabbit.
In this case the teens would have to cut out the individual items
and glue them together. Or have them find lyrics to a song in
a magazine where they cut out the individual words and put them
together on a sheet of paper.
Using these five teen scavenger hunt ideas will make for a
lot of fun and memory building.
